Virtual reality is set to make a huge impact on everyday lives, the niche is in its infancy but there are already plenty of products to monetize with. Everything is about to change in videogaming, education (imagine astronomy etc.), Google streets, medical and tons of other applications (‘virtual sex’ only will be huge!). The much awaited Oculus Rift is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2016, making it one of the first consumer-targeted virtual reality headsets (to be followed by PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, Razer OSVR, Microsoft HoloLens, Zeiss VR One, Avegant Glyph, Google Cardboard, Archos VR Headset, Sony HMZ, Samsung Gear VR and many other big names, most likely Apple — some of these products are in fact already available). The screenshot from Google Trends tells the story.
We have received many requests to make an authority site about Virtual Reality and here you have it. The site, an aggregator, runs by itself via a ‘triple automation’ (obviously you can also add your own content manually if inclined to do so), one pulling in articles/news from all the major VR blogs, the other Amazon products (in fact, the site comes preloaded with the entire Amazon inventory already!) and another for videos (reviews etc.). All this content get mingled on the graphically appealing (huge) homepage and from the top menus. Additionally, the site has plenty of static adverts such as the two headsets at the bottom which are both #1 best sellers already at Amazon’s with 100s of sales/reviews.
The site has many subtle features not visible at first sight, for example it has two difference sources for ‘news’ (separating posts with pictures from those without, on the homepage but not on internal pages), also, it shows full content for videos so that visitors do not have to click twice to watch (in a nice large lightbox), and of course, as usual, it’s your choice to either show full posts or just headlines/excerpts redirecting to the original websites. Re:monetization, having products mingled with articles on the homepage is much more effective than just static adverts in fixed locations (like most affiliate websites do), because enhances conversions.
The site uses the latest code available (WordPress theme, plugins etc.), it is of course beautifully mobile responsive, it requires no maintenance (or VR knowledge) to work and is therefore a must in every affiliate marketer portfolio. The included instructions are particularly thorough.
